Great book, painful translation.

This is one of the few books around that you can find in English on the legendary General Ante Gotovina. In terms of the subject matter the book is fantastic! It provides a thorough look at the history of the General from his tragic childhood to his rise in the French Foreign Legion and eventually his time in assisting in the creation of the Croatian Army during the 1990s (and the war he helped fight in). It leaves no stone unturned and in that respect is an excellent read. However, the biggest problem with this book is that the translation of it into English was very poor at times. The translator seemed to have used a "translation program" which would at times make some of the sentences sound ridiculous. It certainly interrupted the flow of the story and at times made reading it a chore. However, if you can get past that it is certainly and excellent read and definitely a book to add to the collection.
