About the Author
For many years, Rebecca Wright wrote and directed drama for middle school and high school students for her church. She co-founded a Christian acting group called One Voice. It was a dream of hers to combine writing, acting, and helping youth.



Rebecca currently works in a totally "non-dramatic" profession as a Technical Writer. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Marketing from the University of Kentucky. I used many of these with a 6th grade performing arts exploratory class. The kids LOVED the choices especially the "duologues" and "triologues". I found them a wonderful resource for teaching perspective, as well.

Charles Adams BSc (Agric) Hons, Dip Applied Educ., Fellow Institute of Horticulture, is a lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, formerly at Capel Manor and Oaklands College, an external examiner in horticulture, and also a member of the Royal Horticultural Society Qualifications Advisory Committee.

Mike Early MSc, BSc Hons, DTA, Cert Ed., formerly a lecturer in horticulture science at Oaklands College, St. Albans, now works as a landscape gardener.

Jane Brook BSc (Biochemistry) Hons., MSc (Applied Plant Sciences), MSc (Environmental Management) is a freelance lecturer specialising in Plant Science. She teaches at Capel Manor College and Middlesex University and has previously taught woodland ecology at the University of Hertfordshire. She is also qualified in, and has taught horticulture and has worked in the horticultural retail sector. She is an examiner for the Royal Horticultural Society.

This story was okay. It could have been much better with some constructive editing and a bit of fleshing out. So it was a decent story, it wasn't bad. I can see it easily being expanded into a full length novel with some world building and some extra story development. All in all not a bad story but has the potential to be much more.

New author for me. it was a good short story. I liked the story with the three men and megan. Lots of times I try these out and I end being disappointed. This one was very good I really enjoyed it. hope to more from this author. Will be checking in from time to time to see.

It's all about the experience.

Working in customer service in the past I know how important it is for a business. I have learned that even though it is one of the most important elements it isn't necessarily taught to everyone, it's more of an expectation. This book breaks down every aspect of the customer service journey and it also talks about how a bad experience in a business can ruin its credibility. I especially recommend this read to business owners to gain more knowledge on the teaching of customer service skills to their employees.

Decent book for those wanting to add to their knowlege of customer service

I was interested in this book as I have worked in the area of customer service in various capacities in the past. The book was a little gimmicky to me, but I suppose that makes it easy to read. I did enjoy some of the real world stories; that definitely made it easier to read. It is also well organized by topic and chapter. All in all this is a useful tool for building your customer service skills, but probably isn’t the only book you’ll ever need on the topic. I was provided a copy of this to read for my honest opinion.

Jamis Buck is an alumnus of the Ruby on Rails core team, and has worked at Basecamp (formerly 37signals). He's been active in open source for years, and has a deep passion for learning. Some years ago he began researching and writing about maze algorithms, and the bug never left him. He's probably lost in a maze somewhere, right now.

Simply Delightful

By day I'm an enterprise developer working within the MSFT stack (C#, SQL Server, etc.) . I've been doing this kind of programming for 15+ years and to be frank I was starting to get burned out. But I think Mazes for Programmers reignited my passion for programming and given me new ideas/areas to pursue in the future.

I would get up every morning around 4am just to work through a new algorithm! I first had to learn just enough Ruby to read the sample code before converting it to C#. But this process of going line-by-line forced me to understand what was actually going on. An unexpected side effect was that it forced to learn some interesting concepts about dynamically typed languages (Ruby) and see how they could be used to improve my C# (which is a statically typed language).

My only gripe is that I couldn't do some of the weaving algorithms because I couldn't find a good ASCII-to-PNG converter for .NET to pick up on the visualizations that are needed for those. Also I never managed to get the Masking Grid and Recursive Backtracker algorithms to display nicely because of some oddities with .NET's System.Console implementation (at least that's what I've concluded).

This book was a very funny read.

OK, I may be biased. I like mathematics, I know Ruby well enough to read it, and I like books, that focus about one specific topic. Not a general book to learn programming in one language or another. But a book to learn something new about mazes.

It was a fun to read. You can easily adopt the algorithms to different programming languages (e.g. Mathematica). And you learn a lot about mazes. How to generate the easy ones, how to generate radial ones, make them in special forms or multiple dimensions.

The book introduces the basic building blocks at the beginning and extends and reuses them to generate more advanced algorithms.

An unusually fun programming book!

Mazes for Programmers is a gem in a sea of technical books. It's not trying to teach you advanced features of a language, a new programming paradigm, or espouse a development framework. Rather, it's a fun and engaging journey of exploring that joy of programming: puzzles!

Mazes for Programmers guides the reader from the most basic algorithms for generating mazes to the excitingly complex and clever. All along the way Jamis explains how the computer is actually doing the work in clear prose and encourages exploration to really get a feel for what's going on. This is one of those rare books that will be enjoyed by the beginner to the advanced programmer.

If you enjoy mazes, clever computing, and having fun with code: this is well worth a read!
